Melissa, that was a wonderful post. Caring about someone you don’t even know is the secret to a good life. That is exactly what God wants from us. Don’t ever lose faith in humanity. The culture and media today make it very hard, since they want us to forget about our faith and our principles. There are millions upon millions that still cherish good values and believe in loving our neighbor as we do ourselves. You have it just right!! God Bless you. And keep caring!

Elizabeth, this list shows what a special and bright person you are. And it teaches us something. That we should all spend some time thinking abut who we are and whose we are in order to better understand ourselves and what drives us. I have done the exercise and did not come close to your list. I didn’t dig deep enough. It’s funny because some of these seem contradictory. Like Quiet. Shy. Loud. But aren’t we all? And the last one: Totally imperfect – is a great realization. We all are!! But do not fret, since in 2 Corinthians 12:9, Paul says:
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
So boast about your weakness, because we are assured that the more imperfect we are, if we are faithful, that His Power of healing, love, and peace will be made perfect in us. He is the only Perfect Being. And He will give you the power to beat this. I know it!!
I do have a question. How long did it take you and how hard was it to come up with defining You? Did it come over time or at one sitting meditating on it? This may help us to do the same.
You are mature beyond your age. It takes many of us a lifetime to figure this out. Maybe that is the Gift that God has given you while suffering like you have.

Pete, thank you for the comment, your words are encouraging! To answer your question: the About Me page took maybe an hour or two to write. I just sat with pen and paper and jotted down words that I associated myself with. So many words flew out of me– I guess I do know myself pretty well. The list was quadruple the size but for the sake of streamlining I honed in on the words that worked best in the format and provided the most clarity.
